¿How are the pearls of a necklace collected?


Selection: Unlike imitation pearls, two cultivated pearls can never been exactly equal. Each one has its own combination of form, size, luster and color. The art to combine pearls in a necklace, a pair of earrings or another piece of jewelry shop demands great skill that allows to combine the perls of similar aspect to harmonize with each other. Here, the pearls are selected by experts with trained eyes and years of experience.

Perforation: The holes must be done with care and precision. An inexpert operator can divide or ruin the pearl if he manipulates them with negligence. A hole perforated slightly outside the center can ruin a necklace or article of jewelry shop that depends on the symmetrical assembly of the pearls. This stage in the preparation of cultivated pearls for the jewelry shop entails a very delicate operation.

Combination: considering that two cultivated pearls are never identical, a specialist must choose between 10,000 and 200,000 units finding sufficient pearls that will look alike in order to place them together and to form a single and beautifull necklace or article of jewelry shop.
