The characteristics of the crystals of nacre, luster, orient,
remain effective after the treatment slightly
modified. These colors are permanent, they are not altered
and they are not just superficial. When breaking apart a radiated
pearl can be observed that all in it's interior
has the same color as in the surface.
Dyed color
Dyed pearls are those that obtain their outer color
by the external application of a chemical layer, consisting
in a diverse pigmented components, which will allow them to obtain
any color, but never with the luster and orients of
the original nacre.
The quality of the applied layer will depend
on the used chemistries, which will be vulnerable
to dissolvents and alcohol. The dyed colors are not
permanent, that's why they will have to have a special well-taken care
to maintain their colors alive.+BACK
